OK, so strictly speaking this is the road legal version of the legendary RM but you won’t be winning any etiquette prizes when you roar past on one. Neither will you be taking your grandmother to bingo on the back. Even if it had rear pegs, this bike is so peppy, anyone foolish enough to try to hitch a lift would more than likely be left behind, sitting on their backside looking rather foolish with a face full of two-stroke exhaust.

Let’s get to it. What’s does this bike do? 40HP.

OK, if you need more (although if you’re looking at this I suspect you already know it): it’s a single cylinder 2-stroke (premix) liquid cooled engine. It has a Mikuni carb, wet clutch and 5-speed transmission. Front suspension is upside down forks and rear is a fully adjustable monoshock. 21-inch front wheel, 18-inch rear, both with disc brakes. Wheelbase is 1485mm, dry weight is 108kg and seat height is a healthy 955mm or 37.6 inches.

Powerful and striking looking, this is not the bike to buy if you want to sneak up on someone or meld into the background.

Ours is a 1993 model and is in really nice condition. It has only travelled a little over 2,000 miles and is very clean all over. There are a few slight signs of ageing but really for a 26-year-old crosser she is exceptional. I will let the photos and video do the rest of the talking.
