When it comes to iconic bikes, the 1969 Honda CB750 has to be right up there. Popularising the transverse, overhead camshaft, inline four-cylinder engine configuration and the first bike to be dubbed a Superbike, there’s nothing quite like it.
Except this.
This being a 2002 limited edition, brand new Honda Monkey 50 in CB750 colours. This bike was produced by Honda in homage to the legendary 1969 CB750. This particular one was purchased brand new by our Japanese sister company in 2005. She was dry stored for 12 years. The two kilometres come from the bike being moved around. She has never run nor been started. Even though she was dry stored a little bit of humidity did reach her and there are some traces of initial corrosion on the engine cover. The only other slight minus is a very small piece missing from the right side tank decal. Other than that, she is mint.
This is a super rare monkey – 15 years old, limited edition in CB750 colours and never been used. 2017 marks the fiftieth anniversary of the Honda Monkey and also the final year of production which means that these bikes can only become more collectable with time.
