The Yamaha FS1E Fizzy remains a popular bike in the UK. There was something about the long thin tank and sparse design that harked back to more innocent times and captured many people’s hearts. The problem we have now, in the heady have in the heady, futuristic days of 2018 is that all the Fizzy’s have either rusted to death or been restored and now cost the earth.
Back in the late nineties, the clever engineers at Yamaha foresaw the problem us Brits would have and kindly created a Fizzy homage bike, knowing that at some point a company called Seven Seas Motors would come into existence and bring them in. So here we are – the Yamaha YB1-50. As close to the FS1E as you’ll get without actually digging out an original.
This is retro styled bike with 1990’s engineering. It runs really nicely while at the same time looking like something we rode back when swings were built over concrete and seatbelts were for whimps.
We think it looks the absolute business with its silver and black tank, looong seat, black frame and chrome mudguards. It is a wonderful homage to the 1970’s mopeds those of us of a certain age remember and has an understated chic of its own. At 19 years it is straddling the modern and classic but on looks alone it very much falls into the second camp.
This bike has been through the NOVA system. We can arrange registration and delivery. Registration is a 3-step process: obtain a dating certificate from a DVLA accredited dating officer; MOT; registration with DVLA. This costs £150.
Payment can be made by direct debit or credit/debit card. FINANCE AVAILABLE.
